The Public Service Association Specific Purpose Award 2020 (The PSA Award) is for a woman studying at post-graduate level in New Zealand, in the area of gender and pay equity. This award is a one-off grant to help with study and/or living expenses during study. The money may be used for tuition costs in pursuit of an approved course of study, experiential development, transport costs, costs associated with disabilities, childcare or other study-related expenses. It may be used in combination with funding from other sources.

Before you apply please ensure you meet ALL the following eligibility criteria:

  • a woman studying at post-graduate level

  • engaged in study or research on gender and pay equity

  • a New Zealand citizen or holds a resident class visa; and currently lives in Aotearoa, New Zealand

When selecting awardees, the selection panel will consider the following:

  • Quality of the proposed research project

  • Financial and personal circumstances

  • Social identities and union affiliation

  • Researchers capability to conduct the research project
