Purpose of the awards
Foundation Certificate and Diploma Studies Second-Chance Education Awards are for women who are engaging in tertiary education for the first time, at either a Foundation Certificate level (NZQA level 3-4) or Diploma level (NZQA level 5-6), who do not already have a tertiary qualification at that level. If you have previously undertaken a Foundation Certificate programme and are now doing a Diploma programme you can apply.
In both categories, the awards are a one off grant to help with study and/or living expenses.
This year we have an award sponsored by the Business & Professional Women Auckland specifically for a woman enrolled in a Business related foundation certificate or diploma course at an institution in the Auckland region.
There are awards targeted to Bay of Plenty and Waikato applicants. Waikato Graduate Women Educational Trust sponsor 3 awards at this level.
There are also sponsored awards for applicants from across the country.
